Journal entry by Zoe Hall —
Hello everyone, thank you so much for all the kind words and support over the last couple days, we feel so wrapped in love.
For those asking, we wanted to share two different organizations for people to make donations in Dad’s name.
· Woodland Park Zoo: Dad’s first career was being a wildlife biologist throughout the Northwest. After he retired, he started volunteering at the Zoo in Seattle- returning to his first love of working with animals. Link here: https://www.zoo.org
· The Big Hole River Foundation: Dad was a lifelong fisherman and an avid environmentalist. His favorite place on earth, and where he later built our family cabin is the Big Hole River, in Montana. This foundation works on maintaining the river Dad loved most to fish on, and keeping the surrounding areas clean. Link here: https://www.bhrf.org
Due to the global pandemic, we are planning on hosting a memorial service in Seattle for Dad this upcoming Fall. In the meantime, we are curating a playlist of all of Dad’s favorite songs, and songs that remind us of him. Please feel free to email me or text me any songs recommendations that remind you of Dad, zhall.ghs@gmail.com; (206)697.2271. I will be sharing the playlist here shortly- stay tuned!
Since some folks have asked, if you show love through food, then please feel free to check out our website to coordinate drop-off dates. Even though my mom MAY have told you she doesn’t need food, Dana and I have agreed to disagree with her, and would welcome ANY food other than our mom’s day-old brussel sprouts Link here: https://www.TakeThemAMeal.com/SXPO0742
Just wanted to sign off by saying thank you again so much to everyone who has been a part of our community this past year. We feel so lucky to have so many arms holding us during this trying time.
Best,
Zoë (and family)
