Journal entry by Andrea Miller

The End??….
Last month I was given a clean bill of health from my oncologist, Dr. Krontiras. Even though I was thankful, it felt anticlimactic.  It’s just, finished.
Last week I had my last revision surgery with Dr.Fix and am a bit sore and bruised from that, but recovering well.
These last few months have been such a whirlwind.  It’s crazy to think that only a few months ago, I had no idea what was ahead and now it’s all already behind me.  No radiation. No chemotherapy.  Just two major surgeries that I terrified of and lots of healing (quicker than I expected).
I felt very emotional thanking these doctors from UAB for their amazing care and am praising God for their skill and ability to do the surgeries they have done with the knowledge they have.  It is mind-blowing to think about how many women they have worked with and helped even before me.
Dr. Krontiras continues to do more research in breast health and many of her residents and interns will work in programs in developing countries around the world to help normalize women’s preventative health.  What a blessing to more than just the women in the USA.
I have been humbled by these months of receiving from so many people.  I have never felt more taken care of.  It is all an extension of God’s hands and heart through our communities here: family, friends (near and far) and the churches who are also family to us.  I am not used to being on the receiving end very often so this has been an overwhelming time of blessing for sure.
Now our family is pivoting to focus on Aidan’s wedding coming up.  What a joy to be able to be there, be in good health, and to be able to return to Rwanda to continue working and serving there.
I am humbled that God’s plans for me include “a hope and a future”.  Jeremiah 29:11

My list is looooong of all the blessings that happened during this time period!

Thanks to all of you for your constant encouragement, meals, notes, “happies”/gifts,  and so many other types of giving.  We receive them with grateful hearts and continue to seek His face to draw nearer to Him daily.
