Dan’s Story

Site created on April 11, 2021

Mid-February 2021, Dan Burke believed he had a pinched nerve.  It turns out, this pinched nerve was a stroke which led to the discovery of a brain tumor, tumors running down his spine and into his prostate.  Despite this terrifying find, Dan remains in good spirits, insistent on comforting those around him.  He is receiving chemotherapy and will next determine if pinpoint radiation is warranted.  The doctors show optimism in the treatment's ability to help him.

It is no surprise that Jodi is taking excellent care of him, and his children are wonderful support as well. Let's all remember to support them as well as they focus their energy on taking care of themselves as well.

Dan is a hard working man, having worked 40 + hours/week since he was 16-years-old. Everyone who knows Dan can tell a story with a smile on their faces. This lovable, goofy man has always given to others in need, and while he may have a tough time accepting it, now he needs help.

If you have connections, are able to donate to his GoFundMe, or have other ways to help his wife, children and sweet grandbaby, please reach out through this page.  Most important, share your stories in our journal, your photos of Dan in our gallery, and keep in touch.

Let's all work together to show this wonderful family the support they need.

Journal entry by Rachel Waldron

Dan's surgery was suddenly moved up to today, and everything went very well! They were able to remove a lot of the tumor, though some is attached to nerves. The doctors believe the tumor is benign, though we will have more information soon. Based on how things went today, Dan has a good chance of being with us for a long while!

More soon!
