Journal entry by Dana Moon

Thanks to my amazing team at KU, I was able to see the surgeon early yesterday for my postop.  They gave me the okay to fly home, so here I am back in California with Robby and the boys (kitties).!  There is no place like home to get one feeling better.

This stage truly has been much easier than I’d have thought.  The only sharp pain I have is from an area of “cording” along my left side up into my armpit.  The surgeon says this is an area of scar tissue forming.  I’m doing massaging and stretching to try to work it out.  I already have significant more range of movement since I’ve started, but damn it does hurt to stretch!   No pain, no gain right?

Dr. Korentager said it would be 4-6months before I know what fat grafting might be needed.  Things have to have time to settle.  Overall I’m pleased with the results, but can see some areas that could be improved with the grafting.

Since it looks like the next step can wait awhile, I will begin the job search out here soon.  I have to wait at least 6 weeks before I can return to full lifting, so I have plenty of time.  I’m ready to get back to a fully normal life, if such a thing can currently exist in this crazy world!

As always, thank you for the prayers and good wishes.  Take care of yourself and be safe.

Dana
