Dana Louise Jackson passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on July 20, 2018.

Originally from Detroit, MI, Dana was born May 2, 1940. She grew up in a suburb of Detroit and spent summers on Portage Lake (near Ann Arbor, MI). It was there that she met Lee Jackson, as she became his crew-mate racing sailboats.  Over the years, they became closer and eventually sailed the sea of matrimony on September 9, 1960.

Lee’s career took them to up-state NY, Pennsylvania, and Vermont, before landing them in MN.  Dana was a very active person; she enjoyed sailing, tennis, skiing, golf, bike riding, traveling, gardening, and the social aspects of all of these activities. She was a woman with an artistic vision. She created works of art with her sewing, painting, drawing, ceramics, and garden glass art.  A social butterfly through and through - she shined so bright!

She is survived by Lee, her husband of 57 years, and their son Jeff (Marta) Jackson; grand children Spencer, Danika, and Morgan; son-in-law John Goodroad; grandchildren Jessica, Jake, Justin, Sam, and Rachel; daughter Wendy (DuWayne) Joarnt, grandchildren Lauren and Wesley.

Preceded in death by her parents (Wesley and Eleanor), brother Robert, sister Leslie, and daughter Linda.

Celebration of Dana’s life will be August 5, 2018 at their home in Forest Lake from 1:00 to 4:00. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that remembrances be directed to your local hospice or charity of your choice.
