3.5 weeks ago, life became a different thing altogether for us. Different because everything else ceased to matter for me after a doctor says, "Your son has a congenital heart defect that was never diagnosed-called Anomalous origin of the right coronary artery". Wait. What. What did you just say? Breathe. But all I can do is look at my child. All I want to do is hold my 17 year old. My Bubby. I can't lose it here. "How is this fixed?" ...doctor answers, "Surgery". Ok, what kind? The doctor coldly says, as she makes a superman type motion with her hands meeting together on her sternum then bouncing off each other the opposite way, "Open heart". I had to be strong for Dallen. Its just he and I in here with this stranger. Chad is on the water. So its up to me. "Richelle just". I didn't know. I guess a part of me reverted back to my training enough to know that I had to move through these next few minutes. Be his Momma, gather what info I could digest, and lose it all later. And I did. Afterwards. Alone. Just me and My Savior. My son? Dallen is my hero. He is walking thru this just the same guy he was. He just cant do anything except game until afterwards. He is just ready to get on with the healing.  Jesus still chooses supernatural healing! And if He chooses that healing through the expert surgeons, we will praise Him for that too!
This is the 1st public posting of any kind that I have done. I was not ready. Emotionally, the Lord has had me. Daily. Losing it. Relearning faith, trust, belief with no doubt...I need Him. We all need HIM and his healing for my handsome boy Dallen. I've been on the phone, researching, on the phone more with hospitals, family, close friends, our Pastor, our 1st opinion (local ped Chief), 2nd (UPMC) and now 3rd opinion (Boston CH) and with a dear client turned friend who is an adult cardiologist who took the time from the beginning to educate Dallen, Chad and me (which the pediatric cardiologists was obviously too busy to think we mattered past the announcement) and Youseff has guided us and checked on us and guided us some more. We cannot be more thankful. I lray God blesses him and his family to a 1000 generations! He is one of the angels God has used for us. We have daily praise reports that confirm for us the guiding hand of the Lord being intimately involved. Each day. Starting with the fact that He has protected Dallen's life, since birth. Families who have a child diagnosed with AORCA fully understand this journey. And I pray for you. Others, please take the time to research this. It is rare because it is usually found too late. Again, very very grateful to Jesus...daily. I found out from a very sweet AORCA mother, that T.J. Carrie (NFL) was one of the first to get this surgery about 17/20 yrs ago when it was first being caught in the medical world. And from afar,, I appreciate what he has done to help it gain attention. I still have alot to learn. But mostly, We are basking in the goodness of our Savior. Matt 21:22 as we wait for the surgeon's calendar and this last opninion.
As I said: nothing.else. matters for this Momma. Lord guide us to the surgeons hands. The perfect surgeon for our son's specific anatomy. Please, I humbly ask You to do the same for other families going through this journey also. We will continue to Praise You because Lord, You are worthy. All we ask is for your prayers. PLEASE, only if you know the power of Praying in the Precious name if JESUS CHRIST. Therein lies the power, and in Him alone. I pray the Lord finds me a faith-filled Momma.
