Newest Update

Journal entry by Kaitie Noland

I keep forgetting to update this page. The days kind of blend together. Dallas is doing so much better. 72 hours (which was Sunday) was our Dallas’ make it or break it point, and he decided to make it. He was Extubated early Tuesday morning and now only depends on a nasal cannula for oxygen. The neonatologist is very optimistic and believes that we can do a trial of no oxygen by tomorrow. If Dallas can keep his stats up, we will ditch the cannula and many other tubes and cords. I want nothing more than to take Dallas home to be with his brother. Colton asks about “Dat Dat” everyday. We were able to give him a sponge bath and I get to hold him again. It is so fun to see him moving and making noise. We are not out of the woods yet, but things are for sure looking up. The team moved Dallas into a bigger room at the end of the hall so he’s no so far away and he can have a little more peace. As I walked past his old room, I saw things that reminded me of some not so good moments for little D. I can’t express how thankful I am to everyone for prayers and thoughts. Little man is doing good. We can’t wait to have him home!
