Journal entry by Dale Riecke

Just an update for all.

I had a colonoscopy done to check out the discharge and cramping I was having. It was found that what colon that is left was very inflamed and irritated. The colorectal surgeon had stated that he had not seen anything thing like that and was concerned that the bonus rounds of chemotherapy could be causing this, he recommended that I stop with the chemotherapy. A biopsy was taken, and a consult with a GI doctor was set up. The consult with the GI did not results in any answers to why my colon in inflamed and irritated. The results from the biopsy was negative for Crohn's, IBS and a viral infection. The GI doctor sent a request to pathology to see if I had had any inflammation before my surgery. They also recommend staying off of Chemotherapy to see it it heal by itself, if not then steroids will be the next step. I had an Ileoscopy performed, to check on my small intestine, everything looked normal. Biopsy was taken.

Just waiting for results and if time will heal my colon. Thank all for your support, prayers and well wishes.
