Journal entry by Amy Livengood

This post has been swirling around in my mind the last little while but it's taken a little for me to actually stop and write it.  We are praising the Lord that Dale has recovered nicely from his bronchitis.  Thank you for those who prayed specifically for this.  It's been a little bumpy over the last two week as Dale recovered and I also caught a bit of what he had as well just not nearly as bad.  I'm thankful to be feeling well again also and have been so thankful for the health God has granted me this entire time Dale was hospitalized and recovering.

Easter was extra special as we were able to spend time with my immediate family.  After multiple holidays with an empty chair at the table it was so good to be all together again.  What a special time to remember Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and His triumph over death!

We've been excited over the last few days to see some what feel like big changes happening.  We have seen a big difference in Dale's oxygen levels & oxygen needs.  The Lord continues to grant more healing to Dale's lungs.  We praise Him for His continued work in our lives!  Dale has started to be able to go without his oxygen around the house some of the time while he is "at rest" or basically sitting activities.  He has even started to move around a bit and still be able to maintain his oxygen levels.  This is all positive progress.   Hopefully a little more time will grant Dale the ability to go without the oxygen all the time, but for now it's on a as needed basis.

Dale started outpatient therapy instead of in home therapy.   That has been a good transition.  They have challenged him physically in a new way and it's helping him regain more muscle strength and endurance.

Dale's energy levels have been improving significantly as well.  He's been diving back into work related things as he can but still mostly office related things.  Getting back to providing training classes still seems a few months away.  Although he did take his first student out for CDL training.  I tagged along to help move cones around the parking lot as they practiced.  Some things are still a team effort.

There have been lots of "firsts" and it is not lost on me that we can experience these together.  What a miracle!  Some things still take adjustments, some things feel more normal now, some things bring up lots of emotions.  We continue to walk this journey with faith the God has a plan and He is guiding us and with that confidence we try to walk by faith with wisdom and not fear as we try to live again.  Thank you to those who continue to pray for us and check in with us on a personal level.  Thank you for all those who continue to lend a listening ear or send encouragement our way or help in tangible ways with cleaning and outside work.  We are so blessed!
