Dale’s Story

Site created on February 2, 2024

As many of you know Dale went into cardiac arrest on February 2nd while at our son's lacrosse practice. He is very critical at this time. He went about 15mins with CPR until they could get a shock able rhythm, he had to be shocked multiple times, they also had to intubate him in the field. Once he was stable they got him Strong Hospital, where he remains in the ICU. Do to the amount of time he received CPR they have him in a cooling machine, sedated and chemically paralyzed to reduce stress on the brain and protect his brain cells. They are starting to warm him, but as we all know, Dale likes to be a little stubborn and make the nurses work extra hard. They will run further testing once he is alert, off the paralytic and reduced sedation. We have quite a long road ahead of us, we are just at the beginning. Please hope or pray for him and us. I love this man so much, he is an amazing husband, father, son brother and friend.
I will keep everyone posted as time goes on.
We thank you all for your love and caring through this difficult time.

Journal entry by Krisen Wahl

It's going home day!! Dale has his defibrillator implanted, everything is looking great!!
They say if his heart decides to do this again, he will be shocked and he will feel it! (Kinda want to see what that looks like) 😁. But it's ok if I never do!
Again THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone! Please feel free to stop in on Saturday to see Dale if you would like!
He will be home for a few weeks!
This will end my updates!
