Happy Mothers Day!
Wow, God really answered our prayers. Mom’s side effects subsided, and she got eight straight hours of sleep that night! She’s been walking around all over the place. If you know Cynthia, you’ll find it as no surprise that she spent a long time organizing her hospital room yesterday. 😉 She is talkative and happy, and of course, she’s made friends with the entire team of doctors, nurses, techs, housekeeping staff, etc. She’s even silly with them at 4:30am! She is certainly a friend to all, and I’m so thankful to be her daughter!
The plan today is to receive her third injection of her bispecific antibodies, likely this evening. Doctors say she’s doing really well and ready for it! This will be the full dose, so she could have more side effects, probably within 24 hours of the injection. She will go home 48 hours after her last side effect.
Prayer points:
- REMISSION
- No major side effects from this injection
- Pray that she will be able to receive all subsequent treatments with her local oncologist in College Station so she doesn’t have to travel to MD Anderson every time.
- Her red blood cells are low. (Expected) If they get lower, she will need a transfusion.
- Pray that she will continue to trust in the Lord. Protocol here is that she has to write the same sentence each night to test her mental state. They said most patients choose simple sentences like, “The dog ran.” But, Mom chose her favorite verse to continue to write: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.” (Proverbs 3:5) Her faith continues to impact many, even through her hardest days.
Thank you for praying!
