I was flattered that my daughter invited me to come contra dancing with her. Envision the sort of thing that is seen in movie treatments of Jane Austen novels but with a lot more jumping and stamping and a lot more diversity. She thinks she discovered dancing (hahaha). Anyway , I can progress down the line of dance one way but i get too winded and dizzy to do the same in the other direction. The dizziness is actually more concerning than getting a bit out of breath. Neuropathy really is a mess. I have explained my situation to each of my partners snd they have been suitably moderate with me. One reason I enjoy contra is that you can walk sedately or hop or twirl and leap. The young people I know in the crowd have been impeccably gracious in coming to greet me.
Some good news: my white blood cell count has risen from 1.6 to 6.2. Hooray for residual resiliency in my bone marrow. Nothing bad showed on the chest X-ray. Still waiting for blood and urine culture results. No antibiotics this far. I like that.
Nothing if this is apparently going to delay radiation- which is reassuring. I can’t believe I am saying that about an intervention that can kill me. Well, I don’t like the vague new unaccustomed sensations in my pelvis. If the photons can stop or slow that - good!.
Gosh, I wish I could post a video but I don’t think the platform will accept that format. If you haven’t tried contra dancing - you are missing out.
Thank you for music and dance and friends in all generations, as well as precious family. Thank you for well being and any endurance at all.
