A long overdue update to share the news that since August I have had two rounds of PET/CT scans that show “no evidence of metabolically active metastatic disease” Every organ scanned was “unremarkable.” Meaning while I still have evidence of healing tumors and lesions, there is no evidence of active cancer. Which is a pretty great report!
My doctors have told me that I don’t get to say that I am cancer free or even in remission. MBC is aggressive and has a tendency to return if not treated. But, the treatment I am on is working and that is the best I could ask for.
As for my plan forward, I am hoping to reduce my chemotherapy regime to lower my toxicity levels. But, that will be a conversation I have with my oncologist. They still want me doing chemo every 3 weeks - forever. That has been working for me, but I’m playing the long game here and am interested in being as gentle with my body as possible. I continue to have bone strengthening meds and estrogen suppressing injections. I also continue to go to acupuncture weekly - which I love.
All is good with the family. Dash and Emrie are happy at school and Mike has been going into Seattle most days.
Thanks again for the continued love and support.
