Since the last update, we've been deep in the thick of chemo and all of its side effects. Crystal has been a champ and then some, dealing with shifting schedules, increasing bone pain, a bout of COVID that landed her in the hospital, etc. etc.
I've started to work again — my consulting dance card is full until mid-May and I'm working on a new startup along the way.
The below is from Saturday at Crystal's penultimate chemo. Next is six-weeks radiation, and then, we hope — the vacation that we canceled when all this intensified last year.

So much joy — yes, joy — at UT Southwestern Medical Center Red Bird for Saturday chemo. Crystal still has one more, but it’s at the mothership and the Red Bird crew, especially Patricia, have taken such good care of us. They’ve demystified the scary stuff, prayed with us, laughed with us, and kept our spirits up. So this last visit feels special.
Another patient having their last treatment has created an air of celebration on the hall. There may be no better feeling than love, light and laughter in what is an otherwise dark moment.
