Corene’s Story

Site created on November 17, 2019

Welcome to Corene's CaringBridge site. We are SO thankful to have the outpouring of support from so many family and friends while we work through this difficult news with our wife, mom and grandma (her most favorite word).

You will find the backstory on the first post dated November 17th.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Katie (Dunn) Holmgren

Today would have been mom's 70th birthday. So first- a toast to mom. Raise your fireball or champagne if you have it. She'll be rolling her eyes watching over Pat, Dad and me taking shots tonight (sorry Mom).

What a weird time to be in, right? We all know she would have been checking in on everyone. I often think about how every day she'd have updates for us on family and friends. She was, after all, the great connector.

Let's celebrate her today by sharing an act that she would have... Check in on a loved one. Laugh about something the way she would have. Cry if you need to (I will, it's ok). Share a story and a virtual hug and cheers to Corene and all the loved ones we're missing.

She would have taken this in stride. "It is what it is" and we will get through it, with love and caring. There are struggles. Our reality will be different after this, but just like adapting to life with this big hole in our heart that she left, we will adapt.

Happy Birthday up there mom. We miss you every day. We always will.
