Welcome to Cooper’s CaringBridge Site
Sign In to Show Your SupportWe had our final fetal echo while Cooper's on the inside today with the MPP and the Pediatric Cardiologists at Abbott. BPP and NST that show how he is doing over all on the inside, got another weekly perfect score. Steady news is good news I guess with where we're at. The specialists feel this is a "typical" or "standard" HLHS case. The goal is that we won't have too many surprises or additional anomalies to discover, on top of our single ventricle, from what they can see now, though we are very aware of the severity of our issue and understand that nothing is for certain. So all things considering, we will aim to follow the standard 3 open heart surgery path that goes along with having only half a heart. The road is still going to be very hard and long with no cure/fix. But lifelong management and monitoring is hopeful.
We also hit our 6lbs estimated weight! This is needed in order to be on mechanical bypass during the 1st, 6hr surgery!
Thank you everyone for your prayers, support and generosity!
Stay tuned for our next update with Mr Cooper on the outside soon!
