Journal entry by Dani Hoffman

Hello family and friends!

Today was a success. Cooper had his surgery for his inguinal hernia (groin) and circumcision today.

Checked in at 8:15 am, surgery took place about 10:30am and it took about 2 hours. Poor buddy couldn’t eat past 4:15 am this morning but he handled it like a boss. He had local and general anesthesia which to me was the scary part. Due to his age and no signs of lung distress we weren’t asked to stay overnight for observation. It was a laparoscopic repair through his belly button for the hernia. He managed the surgery and anesthesia great. We were discharged and home by 3:00pm. He woke up groggy (as expected) and is very hungry. Next few days will be monitoring his pain and giving ibuprofen and Tylenol. Cooper has amazed us yet again… prayers for recovery please 🩷
