Mom is doing a lot better.  She seems to be getting a little bit stronger each time I see her.  I can tell a huge difference from the first time I had to take her to radiation.  It took 2 of us (one being a much stronger guy) to get her out of the car.  Now, I am able to get her from the car to the wheelchair and back by myself (and I have not been working out).  She is able to hold on to things (i.e. car, handles) and take small steps on her own.

I got an email from the social worker at Coldspring Transitional Care and she said mom is actively participating in physical therapy.  They are also working on cognition and memory tasks.  I think this will really help mom.
I have noticed she is a lot more alert and aware of what is going on.  I think the fact that she has somewhat of a routine has really helped with that.  She was in 4 different rooms at the hospital without any kind of routine.  Coldspring has really helped with that, even in the midst of all of the craziness going on!

Mom had labs done on Thursday at the Cancer Care Center.  Everything looked great!  Her platelets were over 200!!!  Woohoo!  Her white blood cells were in normal range, and her creatinine was down. Her hemoglobin was a little low, but they aren't really concerned about it at this time because she isn't having chemotherapy.

All in all, everything is going well.  She has one more radiation treatment on Monday.  I will meet with Dr. Huth on Tuesday to see what the next step will be.
