Welcome to Colton's  CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support, prayers and words of encouragement.  Thank you for visiting.

On Monday, December 24th, 2018, Colton along with his mom, Christine Tupy, and dad, Tim Tupy, met with Dr. Vilmarie Rodriguez, Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. At this appointment Colton was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Hodgkin's Lymphoma is a cancer that attacks your lymphatic system, which is a part of your immune system.  Colton's Hodgkin's lymphoma is in various lymph nodes through out his body, bones, including legs, and in his bone marrow. The Pediatric Mayo Oncology team began working on Colton's treatment plan quickly. He retuned to St. Mary's in Rochester on December 26th for multiple procedures to test is lungs and heart. Prior to learning about the diagnoses Colton had gone through multiple biopsies, scans and procedures . On December 27th, 2018 Colton returned St. Mary's for another CT scan and for an Oncologist appointment where the treatment plan was finalized. Colton was admitted into St. Mary's Hospital on Thursday evening following his oncologist appointment. On Friday December 28th, Colton had his port-a-cath placed. A port-a-cath is an implanted central line where he will receive his chemotherapy through. Later that day he would receive his first five chemotherapy medications. Colton will remain in the hospital until his first cycle of chemotherapy has been completed. Colton has been tolerating his treatments well so far. During his entire hospitalization, his mom and dad have not left his side. Colton will be having multiple cycles of chemotherapy as a part of his treatment plan.

Colton and his family has received multiple phone calls, messages and texts sending Colton prayer, love,  and support. Thank you so much for reaching out and voicing your thoughts to Colton and his family. Your support and generosity is greatly appreciated, at this time the family will not be excepting prepared meals due Colton's impaired immune system.  It is also very important for Colton and people around him to practice good hang hygiene, cough etiquette and not visiting if feeling even slightly ill.
