Newest Update

Journal entry by Rebekah Morgan

It’s been a minute since I posted on here. I’ve had a lot of people asking for updates, so here it is! We have been home for 2 1/2 months and it has been wonderful! Colton is such a happy easy going baby. He is getting to be so smiley and talkative and we just love his little laugh. He loves bath time, being outside, and hanging out with his aunts, uncles, and grandparents. He is now 6 months old and almost 14lbs! At his last eye appointment his doctor was very pleased with how much progress his eyes have made, and said hopefully we have one more check up before his eyes are fully mature! Then we would No longer have to go to Sioux Falls every three weeks for those appointments, hopefully 6 months or a year to his next one!

At his last appointment in Minneapolis, he had an MRI done to see how his ventricles and shunt looked. It showed his ventricles have shrunk and are looking so so much better! But it also did show that the catheter that goes into the ventricles has shifted so it is no longer in the right place. For right now it is working, but if it were to move any more his shunt would stop working, making Him very sick and he would need emergency surgery. So to prevent that from happening, Colton will be having surgery tomorrow morning @ 7:30, (Wednesday the 4th). Lord willing it will be a short surgery and everything will go well and there will be no infection and we can go home a day or two afterwards. Once again we would appreciate some prayers for our baby💙

Thanks!
