Journal
Hey everyone!
We apologize if you've been waiting on an update for scans! Colton's scans were supposed to be a month ago, but a scheduling error pushed them back to just a couple of days ago.
But amazing news! His scans came back fantastic -- No new growths. The bruising/swelling that happens around the tumors from the radiation has also subsided. It was truly amazing to see a scan that looked better than the last one. His next scan will be September 19th.
So...This will be the last Caring Bridge post. So cathartic.
We feel so much peace. We both just have this feeling that this chapter of our lives is closing. Colton will still have scans. Colton is still not "cancer free," but we are, at this point, just monitoring something that has been dormant for a while. And we are hoping, trusting, and believing that will be all we have to do for a long time.
This chapter of our lives has been truly indescribable. Our families have experienced grief in such deep and unique ways as well as incredible, surprising joy. There have been so many moments that still don't feel like real life. I truly believe that even if we are both blessed enough to be old and gray, we'll still look at each other and say, "I can't believe that happened." But we will remain thankful for all of the ways God has and will continue to reveal Himself to us in this journey.
We are very excited for the next chapter of our lives.
Please check in if you're wondering how he's doing or want a scan update. You can reach out to either one of us, we would love to update you. Of course, if anything changes, we will be back on Caring Bridge.
Much love.
Colton + Mallory
