Colin’s Story

Site created on September 27, 2018

Hi friends and family,

First of all thank you for all of your prayers. We know he is still alive today thanks to your prayers.

Colin went to the ER on Sunday because of jaundice, nausea, and chills. After ultrasounds and tests they realized he needed to  be transferred to ICU due to extremely low hemoglobin levels.
Colin has an autoimmune disorder called ITP where antibodies attack his platelets. This is a separate autoimmune disorder  called hemolytic anemia where antibodies attack the red blood cells. All of his red blood cells are being destroyed and his organs are being overworked to dispose of them from his body.

Currently they are having to give him multiple blood transfusions and steroids along with IVIG blood transfusions to get him stabilized. He is on a ventilator so his oxygen levels will stay stable.
Once he is stabilized they can do more tests to try and figure out what caused this in the first place.

Thank you again for your concern and prayers. Please look at the journal for updates.

So I am not sure if people will see this or are still following it.  But I figured I could reach more people this way.  I wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you.  I have felt so loved and so blessed by all of the donations, prayers and just outpouring that everyone has been given me and the kids.  I don’t think that I can ever repay everyone for what you have done.  Please continue to pray as we continue to adjust to this new normal.
