Today was Cole's checkup! He did a complete pulmonary function test with bronchodilator. This test came back even better than his last one - his lungs are strong and healthy! His chest x-ray came back normal. We are still awaiting results for the forearm x-ray, as well as bloodwork. We have great faith these results will be just as positive.

Cole has entered "Survivorship", which means he can now think of himself as a cancer survivor, not a cancer patient. He received a summary of his cancer treatment, as well as guidance for future health care.  Cancer treatment can cause fertility issues, second cancers, damage to the heart and thyroid,  and emotional issues. Another reminder that cancer is never really "beaten" it leaves its effects on the body and the mind. 

With all the unknowns, Cole continues to research the effects of diet and exercise in relation to cancer. He is quite diligent in eating organically and exercising  regularly. This summer he and his dad built a cold plunge tub. Cold plunge is know to do the following: increase blood circulation, boost your mood, speed up your metabolism, ease muscle soreness. I believe his focus on health is therapeutic and an active way to feel in control of his future.

As 2023 comes to a close, we are thankful for another amazing year! We look forward to all the blessings 2024 has in store for us.  We hope to update you in March with another positive report. Merry Christmas everyone!
