Cole’s Story

Site created on October 27, 2022

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.
On September 26, 2022, Cole’s wrist had noticeable swelling. After an MRI, 2 bone biopsies, and 1 world renowned bone pathologist, he was finally diagnosed with Osteosarcoma on October 21, 2022. We know this journey will be long and hard, but we know we will win this fight!

Chest CT- CLEAR
Bone Scan- CLEAR
Echocardiogram- NORMAL
X-ray of the forearm- HEALING

We can rest easy tonight. The bone graft was successful and Cole is cleared for sports! It’s the best news ever for our guy who had to quit soccer in September of 2022 while we waited for the unthinkable to occur. It’s also some relief for me that he might not snap like a toothpick. He is looking forward to being active again and we are excited to watch him flourish. Life after cancer continues to have its ups and downs despite our good fortunes. I can only hope that the saying “time heals all wounds” comes to fruition. Each clear scan brings us closer to two years when the chance of relapse decreases. Cole is still 1 in 3 and for that I am truly thankful! Mental health is real. Check on your loved ones. Listen to your kids. Be kind.

Xoxo
