Cole’s Story

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
We are the Erbe family, we have six children and live in rural Stanford. The reason we have decided to have a Caring bridge  account,  was to keep all of the family and friends and even strangers who have show the love of Jesus to our family, during this difficult time, up to date about Cole. Last Friday afternoon our 3rd oldest child, Cole was in a very terrible mowing accident.  Which resulted in Cole, losing his left foot and part of his lower leg. This trauma has had a unimaginable impact on our family. That being said,, Cole is a SUPERHERO!  Being brave and strong each step of the last 5 days. Our family has received a tremendous outpouring of love, prayer, meals, and so many other acts of kindness and compassion. 
We feel truly blessed in this difficult time, that our boy is loved by so many. With a very long road to recovery ahead, we feel Caring bridge will help keep all who are loving and caring about Cole, up to date on his status and progress.

Hey all,
I would like to apologize for the radio silence for the last month.  Things are just really hard right now. I love sharing Cole's progress when things are going well and there are positive things happening! But, when things are so difficult and overwhelming,  it's hard to share. I'm sorry for this,  because I know he is loved and prayers are sent up for him always, and the updates are a window for you all into Cole's world.
The truth is, right now there are constant challenges, emotionally, mentally, and  physically. This loss is so great, and our whole family is grieving.  This has impacted me as a Momma in a way that I can't even put into words. Although there has been so many great things happening in the last 6 months since Cole's accident,  the Grief is looming over us like a relentless storm. We feel lost in it all and with a family this size that brings chaos. 
Please pray for a break in this storm  our family is experiencing.
