Journal

Late post but it’s been a busy couple of weeks. Cole graduated from LATC on May 14th and we couldn’t be more proud of him!! It was exciting seeing him walk across that stage. On May17th we had Grandpa Busack’s funeral to celebrate his 91 years of life. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
Cole had his appointment on Friday with the surgeon that did his skin graft and the PA that followed his care in the hospital. Everything went really well they were impressed with how fast and well Cole is healing (being young helps).  They decided the compression shorts we found will do the trick so no need for custom made ones for now. He will need to wear them 23 hours a day so basically can only take them off to shower. Now if you know Cole at all you know he lives in jeans and has not been able to wear them except for a couple of hours for graduation because he refused to graduate in sweatpants! He got the okay to wear jeans so that made his day!! He just needs to watch for friction blisters. All of Cole’s restrictions have been lifted and he can ease back into work in a week. He still needs to be cautious of keeping clean and sunlight on the burn and skin graft areas but that shouldn’t be a huge problem since they are on the backs of his legs and the fact that Cole lives in jeans! His PT appointment also went well and they showed me how to massage the skin graft area to breakdown any scar tissue. His next appointment will be in August with his surgeon.
We are excited that Lane is home and also doing well.....Your day is coming Lane and you will be in jeans too!! A couple of hours before Cole’s graduation we got the news that Brody was off the vent. That was the best news and made the day even more special.  Brody continues to heal and improve every day and we can’t wait for him to come home. Keep him in your prayers. Once again we want to say THANK YOU to all for the prayers, cards, messages and visits we are blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives!
We also ask that prayers continue for healing of  the laker community. As we all know prayers do work!
