Journal entry by Lisa Schrenk

Day + 154, we've been home for ~6 weeks now. Fortunately, there isn't much medically that has changed with Colby and we are so grateful. It was nice to be back home for Christmas, even though it was different than years past and difficult to get into the Christmas spirit. We made the best of it. We continue to transition back into a new routine and continue to work through behavioral issues related to the past year. Each day comes with its own challenges. Tyler and I are back to work and Zach is back in school. Colby continues his recovery, building his stamina from the transplant. Colby is still unable to attend school in person, but he has been getting used to completing his school work from home as time and energy allow. We're extremely thankful for his teacher and her willingness to adjust and adapt to meet his learning needs/goals. We continue weekly Dr appointments in Fargo to monitor his progress as he tapers off of some of the medication that he's been on since transplant; with his 6 month post transplant follow-up appointments in Minneapolis approaching quickly next month. We continue to take it one day at a time. His immune system is still very immature, and he is very susceptible to infection. We will continue to be vigilant and try to do everything we can to keep Colby and ourselves healthy and away from illness as much as we can. Thank you, everyone, for all the continued thoughts and prayers! They mean so much to us!
