Journal entry by Garrett Cobo —
Colby did it! Friday was her 16th and final chemo! Exactly 6 months from the day of diagnosis, we also got MRI results back that showed Colby is now cancer free! What a day.
I am so proud of my hero, Colby. She kicked this cancer’s ass with so much strength, positivity, grace, and the biggest smile on her face. I can honestly tell you that it hasn’t always been as easy as she made it seem, but she constantly found ways to pick herself up whenever she was feeling down. And although it’s been tough at times, it’s been such an honor having a front row seat watching her beat this.
This community has also been a lifeline for us. We couldn’t have gone through this without the constant words of encouragement, meals, gifts, and overall kindness. We have felt so loved and supported from day 1 of this journey and I hope you all know how much it has meant to us.
Next up is her double mastectomy surgery on July 12th and then reconstruction a couple of months after that, but we feel like the worst is behind her now.
I added some pictures from the day, but it doesn’t allow videos (c’mon @caringbridge) so I uploaded Colby ringing the bell to YouTube here!
