Newest Update

Journal entry by Katie Pichla

Hi Everyone!

Yesterday (4/22) Cody had his PET scan to see how everything has been looking since his last chemo treatment and unfortunately it wasn’t the news we were hoping for. Three of Cody’s lymph nodes lit up on the PET scan and appeared enlarged. These three lymph nodes were some of the same nodes that were enlarged back in September when Cody had his very first PET scan and his oncologist is suspicious Cody’s first treatment plan wasn’t aggressive enough to get everything or possibly the cancer cells have spread.

Cody had an appointment with his oncologist today to discuss what comes next. May 10th Cody will have a biopsy done at Regions and based off those results we can start thinking about what direction we should go. The treatments Dr. Mescher explained to Cody today are much more aggressive, invasive and, inpatient which means Cody will be spending time in the hospital.

This was not the news our family hoped for but we are willing to do anything it takes in order to help Cody get rid of Hodgkin’s once and for all. Once we know more I will post an update.

With Love,
Cody, Katie, The Brown Family & The Roods
