Steve’s Story

Site created on May 7, 2020

Steve was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in April 2020. After several grueling months of chemotherapy (and a few steel rods in his arm and leg!) he qualified for a stem cell transplant with the hopes that he might achieve remission from the cancer.

He is currently stationed at Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids as of October 27, 2020.  The stem cell transplant process can take several weeks to several. months, so we will use this page to update folks on his progress. We will make sure he has access to read your comments below (haven't quite gotten him to social media yet!)

Thanks for your support and prayers.

Journal entry by Colleen Curtis

A beautiful day today in Northern Michigan! Dad was out at the cabin perfecting the fire pit (pic below) and enjoying a burger and a beer with the boys.

What a difference a year makes! He is back to working out, doing yard work, and him and Mary have been out and about biking and visiting family. His hair has grown back (more than he had before!) and he feels he has a new lease on life.

Please keep him and Mary in your prayers, and thank you all for your support over this past year. It truly made a huge difference.

Love,
Colleen
