Hello to all our prayer warriors!
It's been a long time since we gave an update here but no news is good news right!?

It's been a roller coaster these past 6+ months.  After Dan's emergency gall bladder removal surgery in April and Covid in May things started to slow down and become somewhat "normal".   Dan has been back to work full time since August and was off all meds except one!  But unfortunately as we know with the Bone Marrow Transplant and what Dan's dr always told us from the beginning- you trade one set of issues for another.  Dan now has developed chronic Graft vs Host Disease (cGVHD).  It is mostly in his mouth, eyes and skin.  He has been on steroids at a very high dose for awhile now as well as a bunch of other meds and the steroids are now causing their own list of issues. 
We made a trip to Cleveland Clinic on Tuesday and his main transplant dr along with his Pgh BMT dr agree that it is time to change to a different med.
Tomorrow he will start a brand new med that will be shipped from a speciality pharmacy.  This drug is commonly used to help reduce the cGVHD in people where steroids aren't working.  Unfortunately the side effects from this drug can be low blood count and infection 😔   It's been a long road of good days and lots of crappy days so asking for your prayers over Dan as he starts this new drug.  Prayers that it does what it is supposed to and helps reduce the cGVHD and prayers for minimal side effects!!
