Carrol’s Story

So many friends and family members have asked to be updated on Carrol’s journey so we decided to do this CaringBridge website as a way to keep everyone updated in one place. In January of this year, Carrol found herself entering a cancer battle that she did not see coming. While it’s still hard for me to believe this or actually put in writing, Carrol was diagnosed with Lymphoma during an unexpected hospital visit in January. To say that this diagnosis was a shock for Carrol, her husband and son would be an understatement. The news came with lots of questions, testing, waiting, more waiting, confusion, worrying, doctors visits, biopsies, more worrying, more biopsies, and then more information than a family could imagine or process. While her journey is starting in uncharted territory, we want her to feel the love and caring of those around her. Under the direction of her oncologist, Carrol will start an aggressive series of chemotherapy treatments in early February. During this time, she will be unable to work or carry on her normal day to day routines or activities. While Carrol, Barry and Justin are believing and trusting that Carrol will end this cancer battle victoriously, they also realize the journey to victory will likely be hard and trying for Carrol.

I have finished my journey with cancer, I have been blessed enough to ring the bell! God is good! Thank all of my prayer warriors, I know there were so many out there. Thank you for your thoughts and for meals and words of support.
