First round of R-CHOP is behind us!

It took about 8 hours to get through all of the infusions, the bulk of that being the Rituxan. The start that super slow as it has the most risk of adverse reactions. He started to react a bit so we had to pause and push more Benadryl. The subsequent sessions should be shorter, more like 4-5 hours.

Clint was a champ through the entire thing, and was able to eat and drink normally. The drive home was a bit uncomfortable as his port area is sore and his seat belt goes right over it. We came home and got him settled and the nausea started to hit around 8pm so we made sure to start alternating his nausea meds. We are hoping that staying on top of them will prevent him from getting too sick.

He wasn’t able to sleep last night, which is shocking to me since he was given enough Benadryl for an elephant but he’s also on prednisone and a slew of other meds in addition to the chemo.

I am focused on keeping him well rested and well hydrated the next few days.

Thank you to everyone who reached out yesterday- it truly means so much to have so many people care.
