Wasn't going to update again after Dad was discharged, but have had inquiries and such a blessing to have extra prayers so decided to update today. Probably TMI but, oh well....

Dad has 2 more radiation treatments scheduled - one tomorrow after which we will check out of The Sunshine House and head for home for the weekend. His 10th treatment will be Monday which is planned to be a day trip.
Last night Dad went to bed early, didn’t even stay up to watch the entire ALCS game. Barb and I watched it only to have one of our brothers inform us it was a re- broadcast of Tuesday’s game.

Concerns are that Dad is not drinking enough to compensate for the lasix he has been prescribed and to dilute the acidity of his output to help with the burning (partly due to radiation) he is experiencing. Kind of a catch-22. Voiding causes burning and to alleviate need to drink more which results in voiding more....

We have been using the shuttle from the Sunshine House to the cancer center. So thankful. I am so directionally challenged, all the times we have been there and back, I still don't think I would know for sure how to get there. Today Barb discovered she left her "purse" which is a little more than a phone case in the back seat of the shuttle. I went to have the doorman call the shuttle and it drove up before I could do so. Turns out Barb's phone rang and Mary (the driver) heard it and realized her last passengers had left it. So thankful there was no delay in getting it returned. I told the driver that was God calling.

When we returned to the Sunshine House as we were entering the door, Dad has lost weight and had insisted he did not need to wear suspenders. Well, he mooned the driver - LOL. Now he does not object to wearing the suspenders.

In summary, prayers would be for him to gain control over the bowel incontinence he is experiencing. That too is a catch 22, they could subscribe something called imodium, but because of the concern of blockage with his hernia, he is not to get constipated. And the other prayer concern would be for him to drink more water. In addition, his going home (to Oakcrest) would be a smooth transition. THANK YOU!

The picture is of Dad at the breakfast table this morning as we had the Our Daily Bread devotion together.
