Welcome to Claire’s CaringBridge Site
Sign In to Show Your SupportAfter an AMAZING trip to Hawaii, Claire was home briefly before heading back to MSK with Grandpa.
She was scheduled for scans in Arizona, but there was a communication issue so that didn't happen. Instead, MSK shifted things so claire could get the scans there and then begin her chemo and antibody therapy.
Her first scan was the PET scan. It is a nuclear medicine test using radiotracers. Imaging follows the tracers to create a 3D image of active cancer sites. This was very important since we were unable to tell from comparing the last two sets of MIBG scans. Dr. K was unsure if disease was stable or progressing.
Unfortunately, the results were that treatment is not working and Neuroblastoma is active in both of Claire's legs. This is obviously not great news. Her previously scheduled treatment has been cancelled. Right now, the plan is to start radiation therapy to attack the active sites in her legs.
We will let you know what the plan looks like as new treatment options are considered. We are not done fighting yet! In the meantime, check out a few pictures of Claire with her new kittens and some from her in New York.
