11/23/1954 - 3/11/2021

Claire Callahan Goodman passed away peacefully after receiving wonderful, gentle care from her nurses at the Bruns House. While she left this earth far too early, her last days were spent receiving hugs and words of love from friends and family. She is no longer in pain. She was, is, and always will be my guardian angel - my mom sacrificed her career and comfort every single day to give me the love and support necessary for my own success. I was not the only one to receive unlimited encouragement from my brilliant mother: she spent hours on the phone each day, listening (and interrupting), offering advice, and giggling until the cows came home. Her genius and creativity are evident in her programming, knitting, jewelry-making, viola playing, and knowledge of every single fact in the world. Her voice, wit, and snuggles are greatly missed. 

I'm still in shock and can't find the words to honor my amazing mom at the moment. For now, please celebrate Claire's life by eating a cookie, listening to Bach, or winning a game of Scrabble. 

I cannot express my gratitude and appreciation to the Bruns House for keeping my Mommy comfortable during her last days. The entire staff was so gentle, respectful, and attentive. If you feel compelled, please make a donation in Claire's honor to the amazing non-profit Hospice East Bay.
