Cindy’s Story

Site created on January 21, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Good Morning! I thought I would send an update to my health. My pet scan was not as good as I would have liked, revealing cancer in my spine as well as my breast. This changes my treatment plan some. It moves me from curable to treatable.  So please PRAY that I respond well to treatment and have few side effects.
As you know I'm always trying to move forward. I can't control the fact this has happened to me. Only how I travel the road. So with the great support around me, I will start treatment tomorrow. I would love to hear from all of you, but please know out of respect, I don't wish to talk about the cancer or treatment plan.  The general question of how do you feel today is good, but better yet tell me what you and your family are up to. What you love about the day.
I intend to be grateful EVERY day I have, 1 year or 30 years worth. So if you receive a sad emoji from me you know that I am in need of a pick me up.  I would greatly appreciate a joke, laugh, or anything to make me smile.:)
It is by God that I intend to get through this, so if you all would do some talking to him on my behalf that would be awesome.
I don't know how I will be feeling in the weeks to come, so if you are in need of hair care contact the ladies in the shop.  They will and are very capable hair dressers.

Journal entry by Traci Larson

Cindy has finished her 5th round of Chemo.  Her is her message

Yesterday, I finished round 5.  I was a bit nervous about going to the hospital. This crazy virus has me paranoid as hell. As usual I received excellent care. It's different not being able to have anyone with me during treatment but I fully understand why. Surprisingly the time passed quickly. I had 5 and 1/2 hours of time to think of what I am grateful for; God, family, friends, everyone praying for me and checking on us.
I'm feeling well so far except the non sleeping (stupid steroids). I remind myself that it will pass, only 2 more nights. And I'm grateful that it's my main side effect from treatments so far.
Patients and caregivers love hearing from you; add a comment to show your support.
