Cindy’s Story

Site created on October 17, 2022

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Well, I’m off onto a new adventure. On October 4th, I was diagnosed with a rare form of gynecological Cancer called Vulvar Cancer. The good news is we caught it early (Stage 1B). I am meeting with the Radiology Oncologist this week and will have a port for chemotherapy put in this week also. My doctors have recommended radiation and chemotherapy vs surgery due to the location of the tumor. They are very optimistic this approach will be curative.

I will use this site to provide updates of my journey. In the meantime I ask that you keep me and my family in your thoughts and prayers.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Cindy Moline

I am Cancer Free!! It’s been 12 weeks since I completed my 39 radiation and 8 chemotherapy treatments. Yesterday I had my PET Scan to see if my cancer was gone and I’m so happy to share that I am a cancer survivor.

My journey started on October 4, 2022, when my oncologist,  who said those words, “This is cancer”. 177 days later, it’s over.

Since my last update at the end of January, life has continued to get better everyday. Kevin and I completed our 10th year volunteering at Spring Training in Peoria. We sold the 50/50 raffle tickets. I started chipping and putting at the golf course and Jay and I are back doing our “mailbox walks.” I also found time for a second transfusion of two units of red blood cells in February, but, have felt good ever since.

I want to thank my family, my golf friends, and all my friends near and far who called or text, sent kind cards and gifts, came to visit or most importantly prayed for me throughout this entire journey (special thanks to my daughter Kelly and the Dominican Sisters of Springfield, IL.)

All of the prayers have been answered. I was able to go it Faith over Fear and win this battle with your loving support. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
