Journal entry by Cindy Mahanes

Thank you for your patience! Here’s an update🙂
Last weekend I was in a lot of pain. My sister Angie came by, took one look at me and called my oncologist who told her to bring me to the ER. Long story short, I had a very bad infection which compromised my immune system. And if that wasn’t enough, I had kidney stone. 4 of them. One being, well, large. 2 CM. Not mm - CM. We were more than a little stunned- how big is 2cm? Put two fingers together. Yep, THAT big 😳
I was immediately admitted. My white count was critical. After lots of meds, yesterday my count rose quite a bit to 2.4. We were hopeful! This morning I got the happy news that my count was in the normal range! I’m headed home this afternoon, feeling sooooo much better! Unfortunately, this did throw off my chemo schedule. As far as the stones, it looks like surgery is the only answer. I am not currently in pain, thankfully, but will be seeing a doctor about that next week.

Thank you for your prayers and kind messaging, they brighten my day💖

What’s next? Hair. It has thinned out greatly. I think it’s time to make a decision.

Keep praying for myself and my family. Love to all, Cindy
