As a brief review, Cindy has continued to have surgical complications since her return to the US. She's been at home but has continued to have a leak from her UK surgical episode along with continuous wound fistulas. On Tuesday she underwent another surgery.

This surgery was far more complex requiring 10 hours and 2 specialist surgeons. They removed her stomach and resected her small bowel and colon. She's been recovering in the ICU at Swedish. Since Jenny is a member of the medical staff and has provided care for patients on this unit so everyone knows her. They have been wonderful.

We are beginning postop day #2. At this point, the plan is to surveillance for any leaks from the surgical sites and evidence of further infection.

Cindy is holding her own and hanging in there. It's now a question of tincture of time with lots of patience.
