Journal entry by Ashley Molesworth —
As some of you may know our dad has been battling neuroendocrine cancer for many years. Following a recent surgery to try to remove scar tissue and tumor his surgical oncologist let us know there is little left option wise and that we should make our dad as comfortable as possible for the time he has left. Doctors hate to give timelines but the surgeon's best guess was 6-12 months after his surgery on April 11th. As you can imagine this was shocking news for our family and devastating for dad. While he has been very private about his condition we know he has a vast support system of friends and family that will want to send him well wishes and visit with him.
The next few months will be a rollercoaster of emotions and he will have good and bad days. He recently felt good enough to go cheer on his grandson at a baseball game!!! There will be days that he is not up for visitors and prefers to rest, that said Erin and I are highly encouraging friends and family to reach out to us and set up visits. My email address is ashleymolesworth@gmail.com, feel free to email me and I can provide my cell phone number. Whether you can just stop by once or on a regular basis, all support is welcome and appreciated.
Erin and I will continue to update this page on how he is doing. Our Uncle Chip and Aunt Sherry were recently here and had a great visit so dad is spending the rest of the day resting after getting to spend lots of great time with them.
