Patti here.  It has been so hard to put into words the happenings of the last 5 months.  And so, I relied completely on Sarah’s excellent reports.  Her words captured the devastation as well as the glimmers of hope our family has experienced.  But now, as she focuses her energies on her own healing, I cling to the hope of healing that God has shown us these past few weeks in Chris’ life.  He is able to walk again.  He is able to have conversations again. He is able to laugh at jokes, and has even made some.  Most exciting this week was that he remembered visitors even after 24 hours.  Most depressing this week was telling him about Sarah’s cancer diagnosis.  I wanted to be sure he heard this from me first, so I told him this afternoon after Sarah and Katherine left the nursing center. He  understood, was devastated and we cried long and hard together.  Life will never be the same for us.  We are grateful for all the amazing blessings that God has poured out on us through the years, and are humbled by the love you all have poured into us during this trial.  But we are very greedy, and beg God to give us our daughter’s health, to completely eradicate this cancer, and to allow her to live a joy filled long life on this earth.
