Christy’s Story

Site created on June 17, 2008

Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We are excited to have this as a way to share Christy's progress with all of our friends and family.

The notes being written are turning out to be a wonderful boost to Christy. Thanks for all the love and support.

May God's glory shine through, for it is in him that we find our strength.

Christy grew up in Hoover, AL. and went to college at the University of Alabama. She survived a terrible car wreck in 1990. After using the jaws of life it took a team of surgeons to put her back together. She fought hard to rehabilitate herself (she has always been a fighter). During her first marriage of 7 years she had two beautiful girls, Sellers (age 11) and Alex (age 9). She is now Married to Sean Hale who has a 13 year old son Logan. Together they have a 4 year old boy named Riley.

Christy has always been full of life. She is a good friend to an army of different people, showing love, support, and encouragement to all. Christy goes to church at St. James United Methodist and her faith is unshakeable. Everyone who knows her can see that her walk with Jesus is one of action and not just talk. Christy strongly supports her two favorite local charity groups, AIM (aid to inmate mothers) and Family Promise (helping the homeless). She is also a regular volunteer at church.

Last Saturday, June 7th Christy was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, with tumors spreading through the liver. She had been in pain for about two months. She went through various tests and procedures to find out why, and finally underwent laproscopic surgery to find the problem.

Christy immediately turned to her faith. She didn't let this news get her down. She turned to God and asked for the strength to fight. The diagnosis was confirmed by the pathology report on tuesday, June 10th. Christy went home from the hospital on the 14th and on Monday the 16th attended a special prayer service for her at her church. She was covered with love and prayer. We firmly believe that the great physician has Christy in his hand and we claim his healing powers.
