Christy’s Story

Site created on April 1, 2024

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support, words of hope and encouragement.

My favorite translation of Jacob’s words in Genesis 35:3 says he spoke this about his trials and experiences: “God who answered me in my time of distress and was with me on the road I traveled.”
This is the God that I worship.  He has already shown up for me in this.❤️

I had a successful port placement yesterday and really am only having the discomfort expected after getting stitches so close to my collar bone. They had to go a smidge higher on me. I think it’s so my arc reactor peeks out from my shirts and people know not to mess with me in the future 😉😂🦸‍♀️ -Iron Mom!!

My friend Audrie has a new song out (highly recommend following her music on all the platforms!) and I was listening to it this morning. Her lyrics reminded me of Peter. A man who followed Jesus and was called by Jesus from a boat to walk on the water. To leave the shore and WALK out to the boat!

I sure do feel like Jesus is asking me to walk on water right now. To do what logically and physically seems un-do-able.

But in this experience in the Bible, Jesus taught Peter that it wasn’t about logic or physical ability. It was about locking eyes with Jesus.

Peter DID step off the shore and walk on water! BUT then he started reasoning, and looking around him - and sinking.

(That’s what I did when I let a very few, scared people’s stories and comments affect my mood. And I sure hope I didn’t discourage ANY of YOU by my own discouragement! My mood sank. Because I focused on the wrong thing. But I’m back baby!)

As I step out into chemo, my prayer is that my eyes stay locked with Jesus. Please pray this with me ❤️.

And thank you for sharing your talent Audrie!
Every time someone does this, it means so much to others! In ways they may never know ❤️
