Thanks for visiting please pray for Chris.

Here is the back story to what has progressed to now...

Jan 31 2019
Please say a prayer for my brother. He was admitted to the hospital ten days ago and as of today there is still no confirmed diagnosis. So the waiting is pulling on our heart strings especially when they say it could be blood cancer complications from his med interactions or infection. On top of that he has mono which they are treating him for. He also has chrons and type two diabetes that he’s been dealing with for a few years. so taking in account that something could have progressed from these. His platelets count was down to 8 which is extremely low and after three blood transfusions it only increased by a few points. The doctors are baffled but still waiting for test results to make a determination...a medical mystery so far. He’s been poked, probed, scanned, biopsied, infused, tested.. he’s met the oncologist, hematologists & infectious doctors and praying for answers soon hopefully the CT scan will provide answers.
He is showing abnormalities in chromosome for lymphoma and bone marrow
The blood problems are caused by the mercaptopurine. They took him off that medicine and said it’s going to take a while for his bone marrow to start functioning correctly again. They took the biopsy as a precaution.
He had fevers at night that are a completely different issue and they tested for every kind of bacteria or fungal infection. They took labs for all organ levels and they all came back fine so they have to believe that it is a viral infection. They have been low grade fevers so they are not as concerned and said it could also be Bc of the transfusions as they can cause a temp also.

✨RESULTS⤵️
He has MDS with fibrosis. (Scar tissue)
Abnormalities is the chromosomes 5,7 and P53.
He will need a stem cell transplant. (Formerly known as bone marrow transplant)
Will be treated at UNMC as he will need to be taken there for this procedure.
They want to start a treatment (chemo) first before.
Doc said this is a very sever case and needs attention ASAP.
His chance of it taking are good.

Update June 3 2019
Starting today Monday he will be back in the hospital for 2 weeks. Aggressive chemo the first week.
If this doesn’t work then the transplant is a no go. It’s all up to this! Keep your fingers crossed and the prayers coming in!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙌🏻✝️

Chris has type two diabetes &  Crohns  which progressed turned into MDS which progressed into AML. He needs a stem cell transplant but needs to be in better condition to be considered. The effects of chemo are damaging his heart and now need more aggressive measures if that doesn't work next week the transplant is a no go. We are praying for a
 miracle and Godspeed healing.

Journal entry by Cathy McCarthy-Haney

To my beloved darling baby brother Chris
I was so honored to be able to spend so much time loving you in your final days.. When you would text me “I need you””please come”  I dropped everything and ran as fast as i could to be by your side. Wishing every minute of the day i could take away the pain and misery. I’m sorry your last months on earth were so rough you were a fighter and never complained one time.
I will forever miss your quick wit and smart comebacks. Literally I would look at you in awe and say how do you come up with that so fast? Always spot on and so punny.
To this day I can’t say it’s two-thirty without hearing you say well you better go to the dentist ...
I have been doing a lot of reflecting and when I think back to the beginning of time with you.. I  can not think of one day that you didn't love me better than the day before. Not one fight argument or disagreement. You gave me full respect always. I am in awe of our relationship one like no other and will cherish every single memory.
No one did life as great as you!
Thanks for being the best brother a sissy could ask for 💙 but now my sweet angel 😇 you can soar with then ones who went before.
“I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith”

You are removed from our immediate lives but live on in our hearts making us better than before only from farther away.

Until we meet again keep shining down on us and show us a sign (((hugs to heaven))) 🙌🏻✝️ #gaga #grandaddy #glady #GG #scrappy #molly #wiz 😇 —
