Journal entry by Bre O'Farrell

Kristen and Christian flew down to Seattle on Monday (2/4) for surgery and a few follow up appointments. The cataract removal surgery was done on Tuesday and went very well. The doctor was impressed with how well the structure of his eye was after the injury. His vision has been gradually improving since the surgery as the swelling goes down and the new lens heals. A small amount of scar tissue is present on his cornea, which will most likely be removed with a laser in the future. The plan now is to wait until the end of March and reassess his vision to plan more surgeries. Cornea replacement is still an option, but the doctor would like to wait until everything is healed before making a final decision. He has a follow-up appointment for his arm tomorrow. Christian has been doing a lot of girl push-ups, so I'm willing to bet they will be impressed with how strong it is! I'm relieved that the cataract surgery is over and we get to look forward to more good things!
