Journal

It’s been a while since I posted on my condition. But today I have news to share, good news.

Thea and I were at Dr. Beck’s yesterday. I got my usual monthly Firmagon shot and a consult with the Doc. In addition, I had my first MRI since my initial diagnosis. The MRI confirmed that the treatment is working. My bone health is much improved, and my lymph nodes have shrunk.

Dr. Beck even released me to get back in the swimming pool, “but take it easy,” he said. I can tell you that anyone who has ever watched me swim would say,” that guy is taking it easy.” But still, I will go slow – I’m sure that after almost 6 months, going slow will be my best effort.

An important measure of my treatment progress is my PSA score. Normal values are 0 to 4, or a little higher for the elderly, whoever those folks might be. The day my treatment started, my PSA was 1670. Over these 5+ months, it has dropped steadily: 790, 220, 58, 40, and 24.

Besides this medical information, I can report that I am feeling better and better. My energy and stamina are not far from where they were before this started. I’ve had both my vaccine shots and I am eager for warm weather to get here.

I appreciate you reading this. It’s a connection for me as I sit here. All connections (by whatever name you choose to use), produce medical and psychological benefits that are hard to describe. Although I don’t have adequate words, I thank you for thoughts, prayers, smiles, and nods in my direction.   Chris

PS. Ring Eye has been languishing in the stable. He’s eager to get back to helping folks walk around. Anyone interested?
