Journal

Sorry all , it’s been a while since last post. It’s been crazy busy with my work, with Keegan and college applications, with Liam and school work and everything in between. It was quite a transition for Chris having to come to terms with things he can no longer do and losing his independence. He gets speech and occupational therapies, but those will soon end. His left arm is still weak and cannot be trusted to lift or use really. He needs assistance with dressing and I prep meals. He mobilizes well but on times can be confused but otherwise good. He swears he can work so we are playing it by ear for now. He has several doctor appts that we go to to manage all his meds- there are quite a few that you must stay on after TBI. He has difficulty with time and days of week for orients well after we tell him. Keegan and Liam are helping so that’s great. Sheri is helping tremendously but sadly leaves Thursday, she will be greatly missed as always. We seen an optometrist who told Chris his left visual field is black and that will not really change however there are prism glasses that can “ trick” the eye into seeing in the left field, really it just deflects light but provides the illusion of full sight. We will look at getting those when full healing complete in mid April. Thanks to all of you for your inquiries and support. It’s been one hell of a year, COVID seems insignificant compared to all this but yes we get through that like the rest of you, can’t wait  till we are all “clean” again. Can’t wait for spring. Thank you to my neighbors for shoveling my driveway and to the boys for marathon shoveling during the 3 day storm.
