Welcome to our CaringBridge website for Chloe. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place as we know friends and family are awaiting information and updates. Above all, Jamie and Tessa would love for you to take a moment to pray for Chloe as this unexpected journey continues. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting! - Molly Schumacher (Jamie's Sister)

Chloe is the oldest of 4 children to Jamie and Tessa Schumacher. Jamie and Tessa are originally from the Buffalo, MN area and moved with their family to Montana in 2018 where they live with their multiple dogs, goats, chickens, sheep, and more. Chloe had a couple episodes of nausea/vomiting since January this year, but with sickness going through the schools, it had been common symptoms. On the return home drive from Minnesota the week of April 3, Chloe's symptoms of nausea/vomiting/headache returned. Symptoms continued for a couple weeks. On 4/20, MRI an revealed a large mass in her left frontal lobe of her head. They informed her that they will need to fly out the next day to Minnesota to Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Chloe and Tessa arrived in Minnesota the next day (4/21) and headed straight down to Mayo. Jamie was able to fly in on Sunday, with the help of family watching their other 3 kids and animals in Montana.

Monday 4/24, Chloe had a day filled with appointments. They repeated MRI testing and saw clinicians. The MRIs continued to reveal a large tumor in the left frontal lobe, that is quickly crossing into the right lobe. Her spinal MRI showed no issues in her spine, which is great news. Chloe needs to have surgery to remove the tumor, but the surgeons believe they will not be able to get all of it out based on the location. They also believe it is likely a fast-growing cancerous tumor (likely one of the Glioma cancers) but cannot be certain until surgery and biopsy is completed.

Nobody wants to hear this news, I know, as it is heart wrenching. Jamie and Tessa are trying to take it all in as it comes and remain positive. They are very appreciative of all the friends/family who are praying and providing support. We will try to keep everyone informed as much as possible!

Newest Update

Journal entry by Tess Schumacher

Today marks one year since we found out about Chloe’s brain tumor. I have no real words as I’ve tried to post this multiple times today and it’s been hard to find the right ones.

This experience has been the hardest year our family has faced. I know I have to keep going and remain positive for Chloe, but it’s been the biggest challenge to live only moment by moment.

I’m thankful that when I’ve prayed for peace, God has given it to me. He also has given me His strength, because I’m absolutely sure I don’t have any of my own right now. I fully trust that He has a plan in all of this, even though I can’t see it at this time.

Chloe amazes me everyday with how brave and strong she is. I don’t think she’s ever let her diagnosis get her down. Even when she’s in pain, she has never been one to complain.

I also have to say thank you to so many that have helped us out during this time. Whether it was dinners, watching kids, donations, prayers, thoughts, kind words, visits or whatever else, I can’t thank you enough for being there for us. ❤️
