Journal entry by Melissa Bayles

One year. 365 days ago Cheryl Lynn and her family’s life forever changed when Cheryl suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. Surgeons performed a miracle - removing the clot.

The days, weeks, and months that have followed have been filled with fear, hope, despair, hard work, and determination. Cheryl has progressed from not even being able to open her eyes, to now being able to stand for 12 minutes in the parallel bars!

The family would like to thank everyone for all of the many prayers, thoughts, cards, gifts, and meals, —- that so many friends and family have graciously given to them over this last year. They have been such an encouragement to Cheryl.

In honor of her mother and all of her achievements, Cheryl’s daughter Erin has created a team to walk in the Charlotte Heart Walk.

She would love for everyone to join her team, the Brave Hearts, in walking this year ❤️

Note: you DO NOT have to make a donation to join the team! Just click the link below to sign up:

Cheryl needs continued prayers for decreased nerve pain, reduced spasms, increased strength, and the ability for Cheryl to easily transfer herself.
